About

As someone who was helped by therapy, I keep in view the vulnerability, trust, and openness it takes to begin the process of finding a therapist. The most important aspect of therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself, which can offer an emotional context for healing. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who takes an egalitarian approach that centers the client.

I specialize in working with people who are struggling with the effects of trauma. I welcome the chance to address issues involving sexuality, shame, self-criticism, people-pleasing, and boundary-setting. No matter what your sexual orientation or gender identity may be, I value being able to consider and question the effects of the cultural expectations, systems, and power structures we all contend with.

In addition to receiving a Masters in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, I began my training in nonprofit, community mental health settings. For several years, I worked in a group practice in Pasadena, before opening up my private practice in Studio City.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked as a television producer. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Montclair State University where I studied literature, film criticism, and filmmaking. My background in producing, directing and performance gives me insight into the creative process and some of the challenges creative folks experience.
