Therapy can help increase your awareness and insight so you can better observe how you are moving through the world from a place of curiosity and self-compassion. It’s not news that we can be defensive, self-protective, and avoid painful thoughts and emotions. No one wants to feel bad and overwhelmed. Therapy can help reveal and explore how some of our protections and avoidance can sometimes be creating more problems or unsatisfying outcomes. We can collaborate on discovering what your preferred way of living looks like and explore what might be getting in the way.

Relationship Therapy
My approach to relationship counseling is attachment-focused and informed by Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Being able to communicate vulnerable thoughts and emotions to our partners can be difficult. Criticism, fear, and blame are common obstacles. We will work collaboratively to understand the current negative cycle, access and communicate vulnerable emotions and thoughts, and aim to create and discover preferred ways of responding. Practicing nervous system awareness and awareness of our own and our partner’s raw spots can facilitate the emergence of new solutions and experiences.
I welcome the chance to work with various relationship styles and structures of couples and partners (monogamous, open, poly), coworkers, friends, and family.
